2-5/8/2018 - JÁNOŠÍK DAYS - International traditional folklore festival dedicated in the name of Slovak national hero Juraj Jánošík, captain of the highwaymen group, who was hanged by hook pierced through the left rib and left to die in 1713. The festival has gained a unique position among other similar Slovak festivals and has been declared the tourist attraction of the year several times. The organizers have prepared a traditionally diverse and varied program with the main theme of folklore, archaic folk music of Terchová enlisted in UNESCO Cultural Heritage site, world music concerts, exhibitions, presentations of traditional handicrafts, a theatrical performance, film screenings and support events.
1/7-31/8/2018 - THE SUMMER SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL - is the oldest and biggest open-air festival in Europe presenting works by William Shakespeare. Around 30 Shakespeare's plays staged during a summer in an open-air auditorium in the unique scenery of the Bratislava Castle seating 300 – 500 people. Summer Shakespeare Festival is part of the Castle Festival organized within the Bratislava Cultural Summer. This show is possible to combine with Bratislava sightseeing.
